The ship was used for several naval battles
("four days battle", "Raid on the Medway", "Solebay", "Schooneveld" ...).
It's a sister ship of the "Gouden Leeuwen".
The "Beschermer" was built in 1665 on the yard of the admirality in Amsterdam.
It was a 54 gun ship and part of a product range of 24 ships.
This model of the "Beschermer" is part of a diorama,
which shows the build of the "Zeven Provincien" in Delfshaven.
The model is indentical to the model on Texel.
Both are produced by Artitec in scale 1:87.
